Tom Dondero, Founder

Tom Dondero has over 20 years experience in the media business working for some of the biggest media companies and creating partnerships with the biggest brands, garnering him an expansive network of industry professionals.  He has built teams from the ground up, run sales development programs, and has had great success in hiring and placing executives throughout the industry. He practices and is certified in multiple behavioral and assessment sciences bringing a new level of sophistication to talent acquisition and retention.

Mr. Dondero is also a Certified Master Coach, and certified in Behaviors, Motivators, and Axiology practices.  These credentials coupled with his vast professional experience offer an unprecedented ability to guide leaders and team members of corporations through their professional development resulting in more productive and happy work lives.  He has a successful resume of coaching all levels from entry level to Sr. Vice Presidents.

Beyond his sales and sales management responsibilities at ESPN where he worked for over fourteen years, Mr. Dondero recruited college students for the company’s internship program which he overhauled and ran, created a sales development platform and pipeline for aspiring young talent, and was well known for effecting the advancement of countless peers in and out of his own organization.

Mr. Dondero’s career began in the early 1990s at USA and Sci-Fi Networks, continued at ESPN from the late 90s until 2012 where he was an award winning multi-media sales representative and eventually was promoted to head up the sales and marketing efforts of a newly created division, ESPNHS.  He continued his career as a Vice President of Sales and Marketing at USA TODAY’s Sports Media Group until early 2015 and has continued to consult for various sports marketing organizations.

Tom tries his best to stay centered in this crazy world by meditating daily.  He loves golf, skiing and music and enjoys playing guitar while his amazing rescue Beagle, Maddie, looks at him like he’s nuts. He lives in Manhattan with his lovely bride to be Nanci and their baby boy, Miles.

Jim Watson, Advisor

Jim Watson founded J. Watson Executive Search in 1998, with twenty-five years experience in sales management at leading network and cable television organizations, including ABC TV Network and the USA and Sci-Fi Networks.  Mr. Watson is a recognized authority on sales and marketing recruitment.

Mr. Watson is known for his personal commitment to the needs of each client and his extensive relationships with experienced professionals in sales, marketing, and operations.  During the 1980’s and 1990’s, he actively built sales staffs and acted as a consultant to networks and agencies in their recruiting processes (Mr. Dondero’s successful career was launched by Mr. Watson).

For ten years, Mr. Watson was Vice President of Eastern Regional Advertising Sales for the USA and Sci-Fi Networks.  Prior to directing the Eastern Region for USA Networks, Mr. Watson served as Vice President of Western Regional Advertising Sales at USA.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Watson held sales management positions at CBN Cable, now the Family Channel, and at the ABC Television Network in new business development, primetime, and daytime.  He began his career at the NBC Radio Network.
